The Discovery Museum with Grandma & Grandpa Flynn

This week the weather was so crazy, rain one day and sunny the next. Anticipating rain, I thought it might be a fun idea to meet my parents in Santa Maria. (a halfway point for us) We went to lunch and then visited the Children's Discovery Museum. I was really impressed by all of the different activities for the kids to play with. Although a lot of the things were a little advanced for Nicolas to fully appreciate, there was still a lot of stuff to hold his interest. We had a wonderful afternoon with grandma and grandpa!

An old favorite

Tractor time!

Out on the range with Grandpa Ed!

Madison was following behind on her lil pony too!

Grandpa trying to figure out the dance along game...he's got moves! :)

Nicolas loved this magnet crane

Just being cute!

"come on, now you try!"

"I want to ask Santa for one just like this mama!"

Wall wall...very cool to touch.

Madison was looking so cute in the foam pit, I couldn't stop taking pictures!

Parent Participation

Once a week I take the kids to Parent Participation. This is a program through the San Luis Adult School that is similar to preschool, but the parents get to attend too. We are in a class where Madison gets to go too...We all really look forward to attending every week. It is nice for all of us to hang out with people our own age!

Madison playing with the babies

Madi is not too sure about this anatomically correct doll she found...

We all really enjoy some quiet time outdoors in the huge playground. There is a ton of room to stretch out.

Nicolas has 2 favorite outside activities, playing in the sand...

...and jumping on the "biggest tire ever you seen!"

Our Trip To The New Fire Station!

Nicolas and his classmates from PArent Participation class got to go on a tour of the new Morro Bay Fire Station. For years now our fire trucks have been housed in a huge tent since the old fire house was uninhabitable. The kids really had a great time and enjoyed being able to run all over the station.

Purple Dinosaur was very excited to get to sit in the truck too!

Checking out the new trucks

Trying on an actual fireman hat...scared to move, it was sooo heavy.

Watching the fireman get dressed in his gear

All the kids got to run around in the big empty lot next to the new station.

Where Is Madison?

Since it has been so cold we have to really bundle the kids up when we go for walks. I guess Madison likes the coziness. I almost couldn't find her by the end of the walk. She ended up sleeping in her stroller like this for almost an hour after the walk.

Christmas Eve 08 @ the Peffly's

We had the pleasre of spending Christmas Eve with our friends the Pefflys. We shared a wonderful home cooked meal and a gift exchange with the kids. It was so nice to have a low key get together with another family just like ours.

The Gift Exchange

A Wonder Pets Book! Yeah!

I guess Madison got a bit tired and fell asleep while I held her by the Christmas tree. Elena could not pass up the moment and took a ton of pictures of us. These are my 3 favorite.

A Day in Morro Bay!

A few months out of the year Morro Bay runs several trolley cars around the city. For .50 you can take a ride just about anywhere in Morro Bay. The kids think this is the coolest thing ever. We usually go and play at the park right by the trolley stop and catch it as it drives by...we especially love it when we get the *crazy* trolley lady with the pigtails that rings the bell and hollers at all the passers-by. She is hilarious!

Getting Excited...here comes the Trolley!

Having a great day with daddy!

Bath Time!

Nicolas and Madison have recently started to take baths together. Madison seems to sleep so much better if she has a nice warm bath before bed. Nicolas always seems to entertain her. He squirts the duck in her face and she laughs so hard. It is adorable. At first I got mad at him, but then reakized she was laughing and not crying...so go for it Nicolas!

Always has to upstage his sister!

"Uh...I would like a little privacy mom!"
